During my morning devotion this morning, I was praying for several people on my list who need healing and was reminded of the scripture in Psalms 107:20, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” I thought about that and how it related to those who I was praying for and since God was right there with me, I asked Him, “Lord, what does that mean? How do your Words heal us? How does that work?” Almost immediately, I got the answer. Now I didn’t hear an audible voice but the thought came up in my spirit just as if God was talking to me in the room.
He said, “Well, what do you do with words?” I thought, “Well, I read words, think about words, and say words.” “There you go.”, He replied. So in order for me and these people I’m praying for to receive the healing You send your Words to perform, we have to READ them from the Bible, THINK ABOUT them and get them in our spirit, and then SPEAK them out over our sickly situations. “That’s right.” He said.
God sent His Words to heal us and to take care of every other need we have. The answers to all our needs can be found in the pages of the Bible. When we read them while asking the Holy Spirit to help us understand them, they will become a part of our spirit. God’s Word is true, it has never changed and never will, and “works” the same today as it did for all those told about in scripture. So if we read His Words over and over they will get in our spirits, our hearts and we will think about what we’ve read all during the day. And what is in our hearts will come out of our mouths, (Matthew 12:34).
So here are the three steps to healing: 1. Read God’s Word about healing. 2. Think about what you’ve read during the day. 3. Speak those healing words over your situation. And do these three things over and over, like taking a prescribed dose of medication. Now, I will say sometimes God uses doctors and other medicines to heal us but His Words will always direct us in which way to go. Have you taken your medicine today?

When I started reading this, the thought that came to me was how God crafted the entire universe with His “Word.” Our words are powerful, they can destroy or build. We can speak healing to our bodies, because we’re made in the image of a powerful God who ‘spoke’ the world into existence.
I enjoyed reading this, insightful. Thanks.
