Is it possible to have Heaven on earth? The original plan was that the Garden of Eden would be the perfect place and God would use it to fellowship with the humans He created. He came down from Heaven and fellowshipped with Adam and Eve on a regular basis, (Genesis 3:8). You might think of Eden like another dwelling place for God. There was no evil, no bad weather, the animals got along with each other, and Adam and Eve had dominion over the whole place. They were to replenish the earth so you might say Eden was the beginning and would eventually be like it was in Heaven. Adam and Eve were supposed to be the overseers of the Garden and develop it according to God’s plan and direction. But Adam and Eve messed that plan up by allowing sin to enter their perfect situation. When sin entered, and death with it, things started going downhill from there. However, God has another plan!
Think about Heaven on earth. What would it cost to move Heaven to earth? Trillions, quadrillions, or whatever-zillions? It would cost a lot but actually… it’s already been paid for. The cost? The life of God’s only Son, Jesus. God’s plan was for Jesus to come to earth, live His life as a man showing us how we should live, at some point to die a horrible death but rise from the dead in order to defeat the devil and make things right again for God’s creation. To give God’s creation (us), dominion over the earth again, if we choose to accept the gift Jesus paid His life for. He did that for us! Now we can have fellowship with God like in the original plan. That’s what we celebrate on Easter.
Jesus said in the Lord’s Prayer, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.” (Matthew 6:10). Just as with any major move, there has to be some site preparation. Jesus will return to earth to get His people and take them to be with Him for awhile. “This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”(Acts 1:11). This is the rapture and while God’s people are away, the earth will be in tribulation for seven years, then undergo major changes in preparation for the saints to return to rule and reign with Jesus. Heaven on earth…it’s going to be good. Are YOU ready? Please leave a comment. Be blessed!
