Promises Of God – Part 5

“And God blessed them, and God said unto them,… have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28

We know God does not change, (Malachi 3:6), so what He told Adam and Eve, He intended for us as well. God made man, set them up in a fine place to live with everything they needed, and made them overseers of the earth with full authority like their Creator. However, we also know Adam gave that dominion up to Satan.

Then, God’s plan to give dominion back to man, through the sacrifice of Jesus, was successful; man has dominion in the earth again. “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Luke 10:19. So, why are we still being stolen from, killed, and destroyed, (John 10:10)?

We don’t have to be! When we realize, as followers of Christ, we have dominion and authority in the earth, we can exercise that dominion as God intended. And, we can use the name of Jesus to back us up, (Philippians 2:10). We don’t have to put up with what the devil throws at us; he does not have dominion over us anymore. “For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.” Romans 6:14.

We are in charge here. He promised!
