“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.” (Psalm 91:1-2). The devil is trying to kill us, steal from us and destroy us, (John 10:10). He doesn’t want us to find the place of safety where we are protected from his evil deeds. However, “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run into it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10), and that’s where we need to be when the devil is lurking around us. The devil knows where the entrance to this place of safety is and he and his henchmen hang around the door trying to bully, strong-arm, and disuade us from going in. He uses many of his tricks to keep us from the protection of the Lord: lying, deception, and harassment. He will try to entice us to go with him instead and he promises all these seemingly grand things if we’ll forget going into the door of protection and go with him. (He used this same tactic with Eve in the garden and we know how that turned out. He also tried it with Jesus three times but Jesus resisted and the devil fled).
But…the Lord gave me a revelation of this, there is a secret entrance to the strong tower, the secret place, the place of the Lord. There is a special entrance into safety reserved only for God’s family. A secret door we can use to go into the safety of the Lord and the devil doesn’t know about it. While he is hanging around the main entrance waiting for us, we can go to the secret entrance and easily go into the place of safety.
Are you sick and tired of the lies and tricks of the devil? Do you need to enter that secret place and find rest? “Now we who have believed enter that rest, just as God has said,” (Hebrews 4:3). Go to God and make amends if needed, ask forgiveness, and get or renew your pass into the secret place. Get directions or let Him lead you to the special entrance into His rest reserved just for family.
