The woman in the crowd with the issue of blood, (see Luke 8), touched Jesus. Others that day had brushed up against Him or bumped into Him and maybe even said, “Oh, excuse me; I’m sorry I bumped into you.” But the woman touched Him with a
purpose and she received from Him.
Many people go to church or are only near Jesus and brush up against Him. They may even be thinking, “Sorry Jesus, I didn’t mean to get so close to you. Let me back up a little.” They don’t reach out to touch Him with a purpose as the woman did. And they don’t receive anything from Him.
Today, make it a point to get close to Jesus, wherever you are, reach out and touch Him with a purpose in mind and faith in your heart. He will notice that kind of touch and meet your need. “And he said to her, ‘Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.’ “ (Luke 8:48).
