“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
“What a day that will be when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon His face, the One who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand and leads me to the Promised Land. What a day, glorious day that will be.” By Jim Hill
This is one of my favorite quartet songs inspiring a beautiful image of the day we arrive in Heaven. What a day that will be! In our lives right now, many of us are separated physically from loved ones which is, emotionally, very difficult. My mother, as with many elderly or medically quarantined people, are in facilities which, for good reason, are not allowing visitors. It’s difficult for them, and us, to not be able to hug, kiss, sit beside or just be near them. It’s depressing. I’m thinking, what a day that will be when I can visit with my mother. What a glorious day that will be!
Now, my Mom is at the Mountain View Regional Hospital Long Term Care unit and the wonderful folks there take care of all her needs. And you know, I thought, that’s like it will be in Heaven. All of our needs will be taken care of! No more tears, burdens, sickness or pain. Wow! And, when we’re delivered from this virus, we’ll get to see each other again. What a day that will be!
But an even better day than that will be the day when we’re delivered from the plague of sin on the earth. That’s the day we should all be looking forward to even more than the day when we’re released from this virus quarantine. We think how good it will be when we can get back to our “normal” lives. But, it’s so important to be sure we have that Heavenly day to look forward to. We have to be ready by accepting the free gift of salvation given to us by Jesus. And, what about our family? It’ll be good to get to visit them again here on earth soon but how much better to get to see them in Heaven. Let’s be sure we’ve done all we can to be able to see family, friends and loved ones when we all get to Heaven. What a day that will be!
