“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” (Matthew 18:20).
Today, I participated in a Prayer Walk in a neighboring community that brought together Christians from many different churches in the area to pray for our country. We gathered at a park in town then walked about one-half mile to another park, praying as we went. As we gathered at the end of the walk, we joined in agreement and prayed together for our country and its leadership, our schools, our churches, our first responders and medical personnel and for our area in general. It was a glorious gathering of God’s people as we humbled ourselves, prayed, sought God’s face, and vowed to turn from our wicked ways, (2 Chronicles 7:14). This is what we, The Church, needs to do!
During the prayer sessions, I was reminded of three visions God had given me over the years that seemed to fit directly with what is needed in America today. I identified these visions as the Valley, the Circle and the Cloud.
The Valley. I used to work in Big Stone Gap, Virginia and would top the mountain outside Norton and see God’s wonderful creation, Powell Valley. One morning, God gave me a vision of people in the valley praying. In the vision, I saw many prayers going up as a bright shaft of light from the valley to the sky. But these prayers were scattered all over the place and they represented people’s prayers that were personal and not in agreement with each other. Now, God hears our prayers and will answer them according to His will and our faith. But then I saw several of these light-shaft prayers, coming from all over the valley but they were aimed and met at one point in the Heavens. I realized these were prayers that were prayed according to God’s will for the time and when they met at that one point in the sky, an explosion happened and sparks of blessings showered down on, not just those who had prayed, but all people in the valley. ““And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” (1 John 5: 14-15).
The Circle. This vision came to me years ago and relates to different churches and people coming together in prayer, the unity of believers, and what a powerful thing this can be for a region. I wrote about this in my blog, Revelations From the Road, in 2009, and will direct you to that vision here: https://roadrevelations.org/2009/06/picture-this-unity-of-believers/. As you read, see if you can picture the scene as God showed it to me. There is power in unity. This is for today as well.
The Cloud. As I was praying for our country and for our president last year, this vision came to me. I had just declared, from our Pledge of Allegiance, that we would be, “one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all”. Then, I saw a large map of America. Above the center of the map, spanning several states, was a large cloud pulsating with power. The cloud represented the sovereign power and will of God and He was calling His people to come from all over the land to join together under the cloud of His will. I saw people coming from the north, south, east and west to join together under God. I realized that this is what we, His people, in America, need to do. It’s what He wants us to do. Back to 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people will, (humbly, prayerfully come, seeking and repenting, under My cloud), THEN, I will heal their land. We are called and have a responsibility to join together, with God, for our country.
