“IF my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, THEN I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)
God gives us many promises in His Word and most of them require some action on our part. Let’s look at a few.
Naaman was a commander in the army of the king of Aram who had leprosy. He heard that a prophet in Israel could help him. So he went to him and got the message from Elisha’s servant.“ Go, wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored and you will be cleansed.” (2Kings 5:9) If you do this, then you will be healed.
Moses, at the Red Sea was told by God, “But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it.” (Exodus 16:14). If you do this, then the sea will open for you to cross.
Noah was told by God, “So make yourself an ark of cypress,” (Genesis 6:14). If you’ll follow my commands, then you and your family will be saved.
God told Jesus, “If you’ll go to earth as a human, live a sinless life, preach salvation and then give up your life, then those who believe in you can come to Heaven and spend eternity with us.”
Paul said “If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and if you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, (then) you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9).
So today, IF you are not saved, do what Paul said, raise your hand when your pastor prays, come to the altar or ask someone to pray with you…THEN you will be saved. However, the opposite is true: IF you deny Jesus, THEN He will deny you and you will spend eternity in a burning hell. “But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 10:33). The choice is yours.
