“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelations 3:20)
I have been thinking a lot about doors lately. Not actual doors but Spiritual doors. I’ve been praying for God to open “doors” for me to share the things He has showed me over the years including my testimony of being healed of cancer in 2024. We’ve all heard the phrase, “door of opportunity” which may present itself to us at a certain time but is usually only available for a short time. A job offer, a relationship, a chance to forgive, a sale, etc. What if?
God gives me visions of many things and what I “see” in the verse above is this: God comes to us with an opportunity and knocks on our door. I had not noticed this before, but it also says, “if any man HEAR my voice”. God is not only knocking but is calling out to who is behind the door. When we hear a knock, we will usually go answer the door and, with today’s doorbell cams, we can see who it is that’s knocking. What do we do if we see it’s Jesus? Oh no, put that away, hide this, change the channel. Is your “house” clean or does it need mopping, vacuuming and dusting? The opportunity is there, what do we do? And, what if we don’t go answer the knock and let Him in? Would anyone do that? I’m afraid many do!
I also get the vision of two doors at the end of two paths. One is a small closed door and the other is very large and wide open. Someone comes to the small door and knocks to which a little window opens with a man sitting behind the door with a big book there. They say, “Welcome, who are you?” The person tells them their name and the man looks through the book but replies, “I’m sorry, your name is not in The Book. You’ll have to go through that big door over there. They look over at the big door and see smoke and fire coming out of it! They were forced to go toward that door of fire as they screamed, “But…!” It was too late. They had not opened the eternal door of opportunity earlier in their life when Jesus came knocking! I know many of you have answered that knock on the door but you have family or friends who have not. Please share this with them. I also wrote a song many years ago about this verse, Revelation 3:20. You can listen to it HERE.
