“He heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds.”.(Psalm 147:3)
Has anyone ever been broken? I think we’ve all been at some point in some manner. Maybe it’s something that happened to us; a death in the family, a lost job, didn’t make the team, bullied by someone, a broken relationship, hurt by a friend or co-worker. Maybe it was something we ourselves did; committed some sin, mistreated someone, said something awful, gave in to a temptation or made a bad choice. The enemy is always around throwing things at us to break us. “Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8). But we have to remember, “Greater is He who is in us that he who is in the world.” (1 John 4:4). God is always there to put us back together no matter how many times we get broken.
Think about this: You have a ceramic pot that you drop and it breaks into many small pieces. There’s no way you can glue those pieces back together so the pot is like new. You may, sometimes, think the broken pieces of your life cannot be put back together. But here’s the deal: Take your broken life to the Master Potter, God, and He will do the work for you. If you feel broken today, don’t wait, take the pieces to God and let Him fix you.
During Monday night prayer awhile back, I got an image of myself as a cracked pot and the process to become unbroken: Forgive-Fix-Fill-Forward. Come to God in prayer and ask Him to forgive you for being broken. Ask Him to fix your cracks. Then, ask Him to fill you to overflowing. Then ask Him to forward you on to His purpose for you. Father God will do that for you if you surrender to Him and ask to be fixed. Whether you have never asked Jesus into your heart or if you’ve been a follower for years, you could still be broken. Don’t wait to get fixed.
