“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” (Luke 11:28)
In most of the things we have to do in life, there is a process we must follow: school, sports, business, hobbies and more. God has also given us many “processes” for us to follow to be successful in life. We may think we’re pretty successful, but… During prayer time at church, I’ve gotten two messages relating to this topic. Years ago, during prayer, I was thinking about the successes I’d had in my life and was thanking God for them: sports, college, teaching, family, etc. Then, I got the message, “Yes, you’ve been pretty successful but it’s not exactly what I had planned for you.” So I prayed, “Lord, break me down and put me back together according to Your will like You did years ago.” ”For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” (Psalm 139:13). I saw the pieces of my life falling to the ground in a pile and God began putting me back together, as a puzzle, the way He desired for me.
Then, a few years later, during prayer as I was walking around the church, I was praying again for God to use me for His glory and I got another message about my life. The message was: “Shake me, wake me, break me, make me, then take me.” I thought of myself as sleeping in my life and not doing what God had planned for me. Have we ever gotten unconscious in our lives thinking we were good? So I prayed, “God, shake me and wake me up. I again ask You to break me down like You did years ago and, again, make me into Your image of me. Then, take me on to Your plan for me in this life.
What part of the “process” are we in now? Do we need to talk to God about it?
