We spent the 4th of July at a Christian RV park in Sevierville Tennessee where we have a mobile home we share with our family. During my morning prayer time on this day, I was praying for the needs of all those on my prayer list and was given a different revelation of a familiar scripture. “My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19“.
It’s a promise of God that He will give us what we need, (liberally supply, fill to the full, according to the Amplified version), that’s a fact. But the thing we miss about this is what those blessings are based on. Most Christians are in the frame of mind that what we can have is based on our job, bank account, credit score, who we know, and other things in the earth. This verse reminds us of the fact that God doesn’t base what’s available to us on what’s in the earth. What God has to give is based on HIS riches in Heaven. Now, do you think God’s riches are limited? Of course not! Do you think He’s holding back on His kids? “…the living God who gives us richly all things to enjoy.” 1Timothy 6:17“. You’ve gotta be kidding!
So, why aren’t we receiving from our Father? I think it’s because we look to those other things first for our needs to be met instead of looking to God our Father. “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33.” We need to get our priorities in order and then live by them. Jesus said in His example of prayer to his guys, “…Your Kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Matthew 6:10“. Jesus was saying for us to pray that things would happen on earth the same way they do in Heaven. Nobody has any needs in Heaven.
