Occasionally I am reminded of a post I did in the past that is still relevant today. My pastor at Zion Family Ministries delivered a message this morning that reminded me that most of us get off the path of righteousness sometimes and need to call out to God for direction. Re-Revelation – Here’s Your Sign
Sometimes I like to go back and read Revelation posts from the past and today I wanted to re-post this one. I’m still reminded frequently that I’m a representative of the Most High God and people should be able to see Him in me. Hope you will enjoy this concept and put it into practice. From 2005…
I wrote recently about us being God’s representatives here on earth and how we should be aware of that and how people look at us. Sadly though, many Christians don’t look or act like Christians because they are so “conformed” to this world. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, Romans 12:2?. God has been reminding me of this concept a lot recently.
Then I thought, “How would we behave if we had a sign around our neck that read, ‘I’m A Christian’?” I think we’d act differently, don’t you? Think about it as you drive, at work, at the store, at the ball game, and everywhere you go. People are watching us and, if they know we’re Christians, we’re God’s witness, His representative. My brother knows I’m a Christian, he is too, but do all the people I meet each day know? Put your sign on when you go out today.
Re-Revelation – Bill I Know
This is another blog post I did years ago that I thought might be helpful to someone today. From September 2007.
Given September 5, 2007
During the closing prayer at church last night, our pastor made mention of us, as believers, being able to cast out devils, speak with other tongues, and lay hands on the sick and see them recover, Mark 16:17-18. It reminded me that we should be taking more control over things in the earth than we are.
The verse in Acts 19 came to mind where seven sons of Sceva tried to cast out a devil using Jesus’ and Paul’s credentials and got whooped, (a southwest Virginia term). The evil spirit said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?” Acts 19:15“. As a believer, I want to be known by the evil spirits and have them say, “Uh oh, there’s that Dotson guy. Don’t mess with him, let’s get outta here.”
Do we really believe we can get to that point? What did Jesus say? “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” John 14:12. He that believes, those who believe…
I heard it said by a famous preacher regarding Mark 16, “These signs shall follow those who believe that these signs shall follow them.” We’ve got to believe! Jesus I know, Paul I know, and Bill I know. May it be so Lord.
Re-Revelation, Clean My Cup, Lord
As I do from time to time, today I am posting a Revelation I did in May of 2006. I hope it touches us once again.
Given June 15, 2001
I read a book during a low time in my life called which painted a picture with words of the “highway” in Isaiah 35. I could clearly “see” every step of the way up to the highway and once on the highway, I saw the people there and the dangers which were hidden in the ditches.
As we all do sometimes, travelers would get off the road, realize their mistake, and come back up to the road to meet Jesus. Yes, He’s traveling the road with us. When we come, repentant, back to Jesus, we’re holding our “vessel”, our cup, if you will, which has been contaminated and dirtied by sin. And it’s empty! We offer the stained vessel up to the Lord and say, “Lord, I’m sorry. Here’s my cup. Please cleanse it and fill it back up. And, He does.
Jesus said, “Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean”. Matthew 23:26. I do this often when I realize I’ve gotten off the road and my cup is empty and dirty. You can feel when you need a refilling, can’t you? As I hold my cup up to Jesus, He washes it out and fills it to the brim. I realize I’ve been forgiven and have the infilling to go on with Him and do His work. I wanna stay on the road! Has this re-revelation helped you?
Re-Revelation – I Can Do It Myself
Occasionally, I go back and read some of the posts I did in the past and am encouraged by them again. Since I have a few new readers, I have begun reposting some of the old revelations. I hope you are encouraged and inspired as well.

My three year-old granddaughter was putting on her coat before leaving and I went to fasten the buttons for her. She pulled away and exclaimed, “No, Pawpaw. I can do it myself!” I was frustrated because I knew she’d have a very difficult time with it but I let her go ahead and try. After a couple of unsuccessful attempts, she said, “Pawpaw, can you help me?”
I realized today that I am just like that with God sometime. He has a plan for me, provided a way for me to be successful at it, and wants to help me do it. But, many times, I say, “No, I’ll do it myself!” Then when I make a mess of things or can’t get it done, I’ll go to Him and ask for His help. When am I, and you too, going to learn to let go of that silly pride and let God do what He wants to do with us? By faith, it’s gonna be soon! I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Phillipians 4:13
