How can it be that people who call themselves Christians and go to church would leave church and attend the rally of a group who was uniting to remove Christian freedoms, support abortion and same-sex marriage, and wanting to control things without God? Would Jesus attend this rally? Well, actually He might. But He would be telling them how wrong they were and that they needed to repent. He would not sign up with them and get their membership card. He is saying, “Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” (1 Peter 1:16). “ If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” (John 15:19).
How can it be that God’s people who are made in His image, called to spread the good news, and be a force for goodness in the earth would not care enough to do their part by voting in an election? How can it be that they would not stand up for their Christian faith? “I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none.” (Ezekiel 22:30). How tragic!
How can it be that an army that has available to them all the weapons, strategy, authority and backing needed to win the battle against the enemy but hunkers down in fear and cries for somebody to come and rescue them? “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19).
We, as Christians, have the command, the power, and responsibility to make things right in this world but too many of us are consorting with the enemy, unwilling to take a stand for the Lord, or are unaware of or unwilling to use what Almighty God has given us to do the job. If the battle is lost, it’s going to be on US! “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14). Are you a Christian?
