“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8). The New Living Translation says this in verse seven: “Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.” Don’t give up!
In Luke 11:5-8, we hear of a man who came to a friend’s house late at night to borrow some bread, but the “friend” was in bed and wouldn’t get up. But the guy kept knocking and finally his, “friend” got up and gave him what he needed. Don’t give up!
We also read in Luke 18:1-8 of a woman who needed help with a legal issue and went to an unjust judge who kept putting her off. But she kept on “bothering” him and he finally helped her because, “yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice,” (v. 5). Don’t give up!
Sometimes, we pray and pray but don’t see anything happening. God might say, “Just hold on child, I’m working on it. Trust Me, I’ve got it.” And, it may not turn out as we think it should but, if we’ve given it to God, #Godisincontrol and we thank Him! I was talking to God in my car recently about this very issue and, on my radio, came the song by Danny Gokey, “Haven’t Seen It Yet” where it says, “… Maybe you just haven’t seen it, just haven’t seen it yet. (You gotta hold on, hold on)”. Wow, it’s amazing how God interacts with us!
So, whatever you’re going through, whatever you’re praying for, be sure you’ve given it totally to God and DON’T GIVE UP! Also, ask Him if there’s anything YOU need to do in the process. “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” (1 Peter 5:6). Don’t let the devil talk you into surrendering. Don’t quit, don’t give up!
