Miracles

The dictionary definition of a miracle – “A surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is considered to be divine”. Words in the bible translated “miracle” many times are translated ‘signs”. A sign was a supernatural happening that would point those who see it to God. Jesus performed many miracles, signs, and wonders but He never took credit for them saying He only did what He saw the Father doing, “Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.” (John 5:19). We, as God’s children can do the same things.

Do we believe in miracles? Do we: Believe God created everything with His word? Believe the Red Sea parted? Believe Sarah had a baby when she was ninety and Abraham was 100? Believe Jesus walked on water, turned water to wine, fed 5000 with a boy’s lunch, healed them all, raised Lazarus from the dead, rose from the dead himself? Of course we do! Has anything changed since then? “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8). Miracles still happen today.

Here are some important keys to receiving your miracle: Ask and keep on asking, be persistent. Stand on the word of God, “with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26). Believe and keep on believing, “All things are possible to him that believeth” (Mark 9:23). Have faith; faith in what God has said in His word. He wants the best for His own. Put your faith into action, “Faith without works is dead”, (James 2:26). Refuse to doubt, “.. he must believe and not doubt.. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord;” (James 1:6-7). Ask others to pray with you. “Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 18:19). Expect your miracle. Jesus couldn’t do much in His hometown because the people didn’t expect the hometown boy to do much, “He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. He was amazed at their lack of faith.” (Mark 6:5-6). Today, you can begin receiving your miracle. Comment if you have received a miracle.

If My People…Part 2

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14.

Last week we saw from this scripture that God gives what we know in science as an “if-then” statement. If certain conditions are present, then a predictable result will occur. We saw that WE are God’s people and the first three conditions are; we need to Humble ourselves, Pray, and Seek His face. Now, let’s look at the rest of the formula.

The fourth condition for God’s people is to, Turn from their wicked ways. So, what are our wicked ways? Certainly murder, (including abortion), stealing in all its forms, and sexual sins we can all agree on. But what about some of the things mentioned in Romans 1:29-32: envy, strife, gossip, deceit, arrogance, boastfulness, and disobeying parents? Ouch! And according to James 4:17, “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” Is voting something good we ought to do? Yes it is! We need to repent and turn from these things.

So, if we do these four things, what WILL God do? He says He will, Hear our prayers of repentance and petition, He will Forgive our sin, and then Heal our land. Wow, do we really need that! Is God true to His word? Will He do what He says? Of course! IF we do our part.

Friends, we are all in this together. There’s no place any of us can go to hide from the evil Satan is planning and live a good life apart from others in our land. However, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” Psalms 91:1. There is a place of protection for the body of Christ and IF we do what’s right, we will come out on top and be blessed with the Blessing of Abraham, (Galatians 3:14).

Please, join us in standing for our God-given freedoms and exercise your right and responsibility to vote and live a life that is pleasing to God. Our country needs us. Hey, our family and community needs us. Are you with us?

If My People

If my people – Who are God’s people? The Jews? What about Christians? “Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too,” Romans 3:29. We are “My people”. Who are called by my name – Are we called? Or is it just ministers? “For whom He foreknew, (Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, Jer. 1:5), He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son,… Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called;” Romans 8:28-30. We ALL are called…will you answer the call?

Next, God asks us to do four things: Humble ourselves – The key to being humble is to get your eyes off yourself and onto the one from whom and for whom and through whom all things are. “yet not my will, but yours be done.” Luke 22:42. Pray – This should be obvious, every day, with faith, believing. “yet ye have not, because ye ask not.” James 4:2. “Ask and ye shall receive,” Matthew 7:7. “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Mark 11:24. Seek my face – How do we seek God’s face? “Seek and ye shall find,” Matthew 7:7. Seek as the woman did for the lost coin in Luke 15:8-10, the hidden treasure in Matthew 13:44, and, by loving Him, “with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30. Read the bible and learn of Him then do what He says.

Do we really want our land healed? Are we willing to do what it takes to exercise our authority in the earth? God said, after He blessed Adam and Eve, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1:28. IT’S UP TO US!

Ten Reasons Why Christians Should Vote

I have been urging those who attend my church to register to vote on November 6 and to exercise this right. I’m not telling them how they should vote but to pray about it, research what the candidates believe and stand for, and vote for the one who more closely follows our Christian values. Here are some reasons all Christians should vote I found and thought worth sharing.

1. Voting publicly recognizes that we submit to the authority of the political system in our nation as established by God. Romans 13:1-7.

2. Voting recognizes the equality of all people and their right to speak and be heard. James 2:1.

3. Voting is one way that we can obey God’s command to seek the good of those around us and our nation as a whole. Philippians 2:3.

4. Voting shows that we care deeply about who our leaders are as we are urged to offer prayer and intercession on their behalf. 1 Timothy 2:1, 2.

5. Voting is a simple yet significant way we can do something about politics in our nation. ‘All that is required for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing, Edmund Burke. Psalms 34:14.

6. Voting makes a difference in the same way a grain of salt makes a difference, and that is how we are to influence our society for good. Matthew 5:13.

7. Voting is a privilege not to be taken for granted. Those of us who reap the benefits of living in a democracy should play a part in upholding democracy.

8. Not voting is a form of voting, as it will influence the outcome. We need to take responsibility for our actions, as well as our lack of actions. I Peter 1:13.

9. Voting is part of our stewardship to use all the resources we have been given in ways that honor God; to waste a vote is to squander a gift.

10. Voting is Biblical. Jesus commands us to fulfill our responsibility to the civil authority. Matthew 22:21.

Polls say 40% of eligible voters won’t vote in 2012. “When the righteous triumph, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, people hide themselves. Proverbs 28:12. It is the responsibility of every Christian to vote for leaders who promote Christian principles. Our future is up to us: “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14. Find out when the deadline is to register to vote in your state, it is October 15 in Virginia, and go vote!

In The Presence Of Your Enemies

Given August 31, 2012 – An update to a previous revelation

“Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.” Psalms 23:5

This verse in Psalms is familiar to many but you may not have noticed something. Where is this banquet?

Picture this: Envision a large banquet hall with a long table sitting in the middle. The table is filled with everything good and in great abundance. All the dinnerware; plates, cups, utensils, napkins and such are all laid out to perfection. It’s the King’s stuff and His servants have prepared it. The table is set with fine food and drink and there you are sitting in the seat of honor.

In front of you is the great “cloud of witnesses”, (Hebrews 12:1), and others who are overjoyed that you are there and are being honored. You see their smiling faces all up and down the table and standing along the wall. You turn around, however, and see behind you a bunch who are not so happy; you notice they are all your enemies. There are some who lied about you, who hurt you, who betrayed you, and maybe one who wanted you dead. You remember many of them and what they did to you but you are reminded in your Spirit that you had forgiven them all. There are also several demons back there who have tried to “steal, kill, and destroy” you, (John 10:10), with their lies, deceptions, and tricks. But here you are, being honored by the King, and your enemies can’t do a thing about it. They have to just stand there and watch you being honored. They don’t like it but they can’t do anything about it, “Touch not mine anointed.” Psalms 105:15. What great feelings of peace and joy fill your heart!

Where is all this taking place? This scene is usually thought of as being in Heaven but…..will demons or even people who are your enemies be in Heaven? I don’t think so. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12. This scene is on earth. You have been faithful and obedient and God is rewarding you. What a great picture! This is what is happening on earth when you are following God’s will, trusting Him and persevering even in the midst of troubles. The world, led by the ruler of this world, (John 14:30), is trying to destroy you but when you resist him and remain faithful in trouble, “your enemies” can’t do anything about it, they have to stand and watch as God blesses you. Enjoy the banquet!
