“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:38-39)
The Love of God. He loves all of us with an unconditional love. He sent His Son to die for our sins and nothing can separate us from that Love. Picture this: God has us, holding on to us, tethered to us or just very near. All these temptations and forces try to pull us away but they can’t. They can not pull us away from the Love of God. But…they can pull us away from our nearness to God. “Draw near to me and I’ll draw near to you.” (James 4:8). God is always near. “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.” (Psalm 145:18). He’s there, always there waiting for us to call for help. It’s a fact that Jesus died to erase our sins but we have to repent, ask forgiveness and accept His free gift. Whether it’s getting saved or coming back from wandering…do it.
Imagine a child walking on a trail with its father. The child sees something off the trail and wanders off to investigate. Dad will say, “No.”, but the child wanders off anyway. Soon, they find themselves lost and cry out to dad who has, in love, followed them. He’s there to lead them back on the Path. Is that us? But there are those who have heard the voice or the pull of God and said, “No, I’m gonna do my own thing.” “He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day.” (John 12:48). There is coming a day when the Love of God will not be available; you will be judged based on what you did with Jesus. Whether you accepted His offer or separated yourself from Him. I think He will still love you but you will be separated from Him. Today, the Love of God waits with open arms for you to come to Him for the first time or come back from your wandering. Do it!
