The question came to my mind this past week, “Who are you?”, and it made me think, “Who am I?”. It’s a question we all need to ask ourselves. The answer is, “It depends on who you ask.” People perceive who we are on different levels. If you ask someone at work, at school, at church, someone from your past, a teammate, someone from an organization you belong to, your neighbors, your friends, even your family, you might get different answers. I heard a sermon once about the Pharisees and their pompous actions, religious dress and rule-following activities. But the speaker said, “When they’re at home, their family really knows what’s under their fancy robes.” Hmmm!
There are two people who have a better insight into who we are; ourselves and God. Actually, we don’t really know who we fully are or can be, only God knows that. One thing I pray over myself and my family daily is, “Lord, open our eyes to who we are, what we have and what we can do for the Kingdom of God.” So, who are we?
I am a child of God – (Galatians 3:26, John 1: 12), I am an heir with Jesus – (Galatians 3:29)
I am a king and a priest – (Revelations 5:10), I am righteous – (2 Corinthians 5:21)
I am strong – (2 Corinthians 12:10), I am already healed – (Isaiah 53:5 & 1 Peter 2:24)
I am a temple of God – (1 Corinthians 3:16), I am blessed – (Galatians 3:14)
I have an inheritance – (Galatians 3:14), I lay hands on the sick and they recover. (Mark 16:18)
I have favor – (Psalms 5:12 & 84:11), I have more than enough – (Luke 6:38)
I have the victory – (John 19:30 & 1 John 4:4), I can always win – (2 Corinthians 2:14)
I can do anything – (Philippians 4:13), Nothing is impossible for me – (Mark 9:23)
I can chase the devil away – (James 4:7)
I have power over the enemy and nothing can hurt me. (Luke 10:19)
You might pray this each day, “Today, my I be, true to the view You have of me.” And please, don’t listen to what the devil says about you! So, how does God see you? Who are you? Believe it!
