God Sings?

Given July 2017 

“The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)

In Zephaniah 3, God was speaking to His people through the prophet about those who had rebelled against Him and how He was going to remove them from their midst.  And He was encouraging those who had not rebelled with words of blessing which would come about on that day.  This can be an encouragement to you if you have messed up but have confessed, repented and asked for forgiveness.  See yourself being prophesied to with these words.

“The Lord your God is with you”, – He loves you, He said He’d never leave you.  No matter what you’re going through, He is there!

“The Mighty Warrior who saves” – See Him?  He’s big, strong, suited for battle and He’s undefeated.  That wimpy, little devil doesn’t have a chance!

“He will take great delight in you” – He smiles at you, He hugs you, He tells you you’re His favorite and you don’t have anything to worry about.

“In His love He will no longer rebuke you”, – You once felt guilt, shame and sorrow for your actions but you have asked and He has forgiven you.  You are washed clean of your sin and Father God wants to quiet your worry with His love.  How?

“But will rejoice over you with singing.” – Oh, what a sight!  What a feeling!  Here you are sitting in front of God Almighty, looking up into His loving face and He begins to sing over you!  With everything that’s going on all around you, the One who is in control of it all is singing to you!  Can you see it?  Can you hear it?  What is He singing?
